My Experience At The Age Of 12 - 969 Words

At the age of 12, I first hosted a big show at school. Now I still remember clearly that my Chinese teacher praised me highly for my performance on the stage by saying, â€Å"Good job, you can develop yourself in the TV and journalism areas in future.† From then on, I appeared on the stage more often as a host on campus and I began to enjoy it. In 2007, I came to know Yang Lan, a well-known Chinese talk show hostess and journalist on a TV program and I was totally fascinated by her brilliant performance as a bilingual hostess. Just from her career growth experience, I knew what a journalist really does. In high school, my two years’ experience of learning from a veteran broadcaster, professor Wang at Guizhou TV gave me much exposure to the journalism field. When we first met, he asked me, â€Å"Yahan, since you have strong passion for journalism, what do you think of the value of news?† â€Å"Today’s news will be history tomorrow and maybe we cannot find its value now, but it will definitely become the most valuable historical reference,† I replied seriously. It was professor Wang who initiated me into the professional areas of the television and journalism industry and introduced me to the stories of many famous Chinese TV broadcasters and journalists, such as Bai Yansong and Chai Jing. This experience was an important factor in my decision to study Journalism at China Youth University for Political Sciences (CYU).
